Features & Upgrades:
- It is not possible to reset your password unless you have control of the current validated email address. This may or may not be a temporary change; please stay tuned as internal discussion continues.
- Brand new build with many improvements for http://m.livejournal.com/ -- please test with your mobile device and let us know what you think! This will replace /mobile/ in the near future, so please speak up in comments here.
- Facebook Beacon has been replaced by Facebook Connect
- You can now add a subscription to receive new questions by writersblock
- Support staff/admins can now mass-close requests with credit.
- You can now edit your "Notes" while viewing comments (if you're using the site scheme/old comment page layout)
- Removed the BUY100 and BUY250 commands for TxtLJ, and the web interface equivalent
- Creating a new account now allows for autodetection of your location
- Various improvements to our geolocation feature
- Updated the databases we were using for countries and ZIP codes
- Backend improvements for the gift shop
- Preparations for a new feature/game for Cyrillic-language users
Bugfixes:
- Non-validated accounts are now properly blocked from leaving comments to Independent Minds articles. (Good riddance, spammers!)
- When making a bulleted/numbered list in the RTE, <lj user> tags won't break the list.

I just had the best day this week at work! God, that was so amazing!! The store was not full of ghetto people when I came in, and everyone went "CARRIE!!! OH MY GOD IT'S CARRIE!!"
I really did feel accepted then. This is my store. I was never an overnight person, and I never will be. Sure I will work it, but I am really a day person. I like the sun. The people on the day shift are just...AMAZING!
God, that was truely...and we all worked together. No arguments, all joking around. God I miss that.
Busy busy day tomorrow. Go see Lacey-lu, Kate, Bowling, cleaning (my poor apartment is in desperate need of a huge massive cleaning), I need to clothes shop at some point for interview clothes, call Geico back. I called earlier at around Noon and of course they had to return my call as I am walking to work. When the guy asked if I had a few minutes I whimpered and said "...I wish I did, but I am about to walk into work..."
CURSES to whoever decided to make Geico call right then.
Anyways, my bed is calling out to me. Night night!

Surgery
So, a lot of people have been asking how the whole surgery thing went. Before I begin i want to say that if I ever need anything done to me I will be going to ECMC for life, the staff was incredible. I really felt like I was being taken care of by family and that means alot when you are in a strange place, hopped up on drugs and afraid.
Anyway i got there about 10 on Friday, checked in, then had to sit around until about 11 which was SO PAINFUL there was no good position for me to be in so i was kneeling on the floor, sitting kneeling in a chair etc. It got so bad I was sweating and almost crying by the time they called me in back to change. On top of that im thirsty and starving because of course you can have nothing to eat or drink the night before.
After calling me back a very kind nurse helped me change into a gown and booties because god knows i couldn't bend over to do it myself and I met the entire staff that would be present for surgery and recovery. We joked a while about all their animals and how I injured myself, which was cool and made me feel very comfy. Then after some jabbing (OW!) they got a catheter in me and injected the premeds (AWESOME very relaxing) then they let my parents come back and hang with me until it was time to go. My dr also stopped by and chatted with us a bit until it was time for surgery. They then wheeled me back, I admired the AWESOME equip in the surgery suite (live scanners cameras and xray cool!) and after a burning sensation in my arm and a few puffs of the anesthetic I was OUT
I woke up an hour and a half later to the nurse telling me to breath (which subsequently for the next two days I would wake up because I thought I was hearing her still say that...) because i was coming out of the anesthetic. The oddest part was I was numb from waist down and sitting up in bed.
Mind you i have not been able to sit up ion bed for four months so I was like WHOA, and once I fought through the grog I realized--NO PAIN, just a little stretchy feeling in my legs which I assumed was from the incision. The nurse actually said she was staying overtime because she wanted to see me walk out of there (as she had seen how I walked in, crooked and very painful) so she hung out with me, made sure i had plenty of juice and water, then loaded me with awesome iv pain meds when I started to feel the soreness. Then she told me i could see my parents and leave after they made sure I could pee... which is awful when you are numb from the local pain numbing they give you. Long story short after 3 hours I was able to go home.
And I CRASHED
Im essentially awake for four hours then sleep for a few and repeat, im still very fatigued between the pain meds and the actual surgery but otherwise all of the pain I had before is GONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can sit and walk without incident and I feel like a real person again
anyone that needs work done with their spine I would recommenced Dr Kowalski at ECMC he did a wonderful job and I owe him literally my life because before this I just wasn't living. So until my 2" incision heals im taking it easy but certainly enjoying a new lease on life <3 Thank you to my few good friends that have stuck by me and checked in on me through all of this it has meant the world and more to me.
On a final note i have a post op check on the 9th, and my cousin is going to have her baby tomorrow

News: Much To Do

With foremost in my mind, it's rather hard to think about other things. Still, I'm sticking to a strict regiment of writing for the next little while, which I will continue on once I return from Chinese Imprisonment. The goal is to create a buffer of several months, which will cover me for when Baby Optimus Sohmer jumps into this world in February.
It was either write ahead, or force you to read several months worth of "I'm so tired. Why won't this kid sleep? I want to sleep. Do you sleep? Sleep is good." And the like.
The last thing I wanted to mention today, was that if you aren't watching Sons of Anarchy on FX, you are severely depriving yourself of some gritty, intelligent and fast paced entertainment.

[Link] | God, last night was AMAZING compared to these last few days at work. Bob worked with me until two in the morning, and I just had a blast. Compared to Nina, I get along with Bob about a hundred times better.
They are switching me to part mid shift and keeping me on some overnight shifts (so I can keep my ten dollars an hour), and if Nina and I are working together, Serena or Gwen have to be there to baby sit us. It's sad that it's reduced to us needing to be babysat, but...this is what it comes down to.
Nothing much otherwise. I have to work today from four until eleven, then I have the next two and half days off!!<3

So Heidi (little sister) called me up to tell me someone had broken into her car. They broke her window, stole her iPod, her iPod charger and *headdesk* $300.00.
She says it was only in the car cause she was clearing some stuff up at the bank... but you don't just leave 300.00 worth of cash in a car that you're going to walk away from for any long period of time in Houston.
So apparently they've called the cops and are waiting on them to show up. Unfortunately for my stupid family they PROBABLY called 9-1-1 instead of the actual police, so chances are they'll be bumped down (and rightfully so, since it's not an emergency) and will be gotten to later on. Last I heard nobody had bothered to call the insurance company either.
So who the hell knows what's going on. All I know (selfishly) is that with all the shit going on with me, and the holidays, I don't want to be bothered with a problem that would have been LESS serious had she been a fucking grown up and used her brain for once.
You don't keep crap in your car in Houston unless you're 100% prepared to have it stolen. It sucks but that's the way it goes.

[Link] | I just have to say --- I'm so fucking glad DS is going to be the actual owner of the CF now. Well.. she was to begin with, technically, but someone decided they were going to be too big for their britches.
It'll be such a relief. I've been sick and tired of not saying anything on the CF for fear of pissing off someone or their friends and them having the fucking white knight of the CF (who gets disgusted with the people anyway) shut shit down.
Yay for transition to the true CF owner!

[Link] | Talked to Erin, who managed to convince me to not put in a two weeks notice. Which is good, because you know, it's not really sensible for me to do that.
She's going to try to figure out a solution to this huge Nina problem. Obviously we need to be separated. I've known that one for a long while. It finally clicked into Erin's mind that that's what needs to be done.
She obviously was pissed that I walked out, but was glad and very happy that I came in and talked to her without any prompting. Five years of working together: We know how to act. I know she would want me to talk to her and explain to her what happened and why I did what I did. She knew I would not walk out on a trivial matter; that it had to be something big.
So she's going to try to separate us. ....I'm still going to find another job. Because...fuck that shit.
However, I do love Erin. It's not Erin I have a problem with. It's just...the store in general. I told her all of my worries and issues and she listened with an open ear.
Anyways, off to take "medication" and sleep.

[Link] | Well. I am done with that place. I just walked out. When I go back in today to talk with Erin, I am handing her my two week notice. I will figure out what to do with bills later. (I am thinking of somehow obtaining a loan and using that money to pay until I get a job).
Nina still thinks I am lazy. Fuck her.
No one listens to me anymore. I had the perfect plan to get the system closed and money counted today. Well, I did have the perfect system if people LISTENED to me. Kayla decided not to listen to me, yelled at me because my plan involved Joe being away from dishes for fifteen minutes. OH MY GOD! THE WHOLE WORLD IS GOING TO DIE! Okay, so what if dishes are not done in time?! I had to stay anyways because I locked myself out of the house and had to wait until Lacey woke up to fish keys from her (not anymore, I successfully broke in)
No matter how much I tried, no one listened to me. Finally, I gave up and just walked out. I know, not a very smart move on my part. But let me tell you this, I AM DONE! It's gone past my sanity point into "Need to get the fuck out of there". Normally when I want to walk out, a little part of my brain says "No Carrie, you need this job. They will fire you if you walk out" and that keeps me there. Nope, I went above and beyond that little voice today.
Well if Nina wants to be wonder woman, she can be that. I am done.
